Favorite Author Sites

This blog has been set up as part of the Creative Writing degree I am currently undertaking and within it I want to share my love of books, as I said the other day. SO I thought a great way to start off the book part of the blog was to share some of my favorite author sites I like to stop by and see what's new.

Rachael Lucas is a blogger who I heard speak at a blogging conference just before her first book was published. I hadn't actually seen her blog before but have visited it regularly since and seen her first and subsequent books grow and become published. I really like the easy way in which she writes and shares her life and writing adventures.

The Creative Penn is a great site that has a wealth of information on writing and publishing books. Joanne Penn is a best selling author who has courses designed to help writers sell more books and products.

Katie Fforde's website has such a beautiful layout and a great way to find out more about her, her books and the way she writers. It has everything in one place and makes browsing not only pleasing on the eyes but also not time consuming.

Introducing #WashiTapeTuesday

Stationary is such a great way to express creativity for those of us who cannot actually draw very well! I think of myself as quite creative but give me a pencil and tell me to draw and I just cannot do it. This is where stationary comes into play for me, I love how the many different products you can now buy allows creativity to flow and express what I am trying achieve in my projects.

With this in mind, I wanted to share with you some of the many different stationary items I covet and hope to add to my collection. From now on Tuesday's on Paper and Prose will be devoted to my ever growing love of washi tapes as part of #WashiTapeTuesday. I will share tapes I own as well as tapes I have found and want to add to my collection.

I found this cute washi tape on Etsy, which would go great with some of my photo pages in my Smash Book. It's from Just Keep Pinning and is a sample piece of 1 meter for £1.

The Lovely Desk has some amazing washi tapes in her shop on Etsy but I think my favorite has to be The Little Red Riding Hood tape. It is die cut too, you can't get better than die cut tape!

Finally as I have an equal passion for paper and prose, this tape covers both bases. The Paper Parlour UK has this amazing Story Tape that is wider than normal tape. I have to add this to my collection very soon!

Which are your favorites?

What is Paper and Prose?

Thought I'd give you a bit of background as to what Paper and Prose is and where I hope it will go.

I am currently studying a Creative Writing degree at De Montfort Unversity and as part of this course we learn to blog with a view to help create a strong online presence. I have been blogging for the past 5 years and have a fairly strong online presence, but that hasn't been in the genre of writing per say.

In our workshop last week we were asked to create a blogger blog and this is where Paper and Prose came from. My hopes for this site is to share my love for all things paper and stories. This will hopefully include stationary loves, books and authors.

I have re-ignited my stationary addiction with the purchase of a Smash Book which I am hoping to share on here once I take the leap to start using it. I have also started reading many more books as part of this course so I hope to share with you some of the great and may be not so great books too.

So if you fancy seeing where this journey takes me then please do follow along and comment, I'd love to hear what you think
